Managing Director
Pasang Sherpa is a Sherpa tourism entrepreneur, mountain guide, and expedition professional with more than 25 years of experience in Nepal's trekking and mountaineering industry. Born in Solukhumbu, he began his career in the mountains as a trekking porter in the mid-1990s and gradually progressed to become a professional trekking guide and tourism entrepreneur.

Mountain and Expedition Experience
Pasang has gained extensive experience in Nepal's trekking, peak climbing, and expedition sector. His early years working on Himalayan trails gave him first-hand knowledge of mountain routes, local communities, high-altitude environments, and expedition operations.
His mountaineering experience includes ascents of Mera Peak, Lobuche Peak, and Mount Kilimanjaro. He summited Mount Kilimanjaro in 2019. His career in the mountains has also taken him across many of Nepal's major trekking and mountain regions.
Tourism Entrepreneurship and Leadership
Alongside his mountain career, Pasang has been actively involved in Nepal's tourism industry as an entrepreneur and tourism professional. He has been involved in tourism companies including Nepal Trekking Tourism & Adventure and Nepal Trekking Tours, working across trekking, tours, peak climbing, and expedition operations.
He has also contributed to the wider tourism industry through professional organizations. He served as Secretary of the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) and currently serves as President of the Sherpa Tourism Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal (STEAN).
Education and Broader Experience
Pasang has continued his education alongside his professional career, completing a Master's degree in Business Studies and later a second Master's degree in Political Science. He has also travelled extensively across more than 30 countries, gaining wider exposure to international tourism and different cultures.
From beginning his career as a porter in the Himalayas to becoming a tourism entrepreneur and industry leader, Pasang Sherpa brings decades of practical experience and a deep connection with Nepal's mountain tourism sector to Summit 8000.
At Summit 8000, Pasang Sherpa serves as Managing Director, contributing to the company's overall management, expedition planning, business development, and mountain tourism operations.
His combination of first-hand experience in the mountains, long-term involvement in tourism, and leadership within the Sherpa tourism community supports Summit 8000's approach to professional and Sherpa-led Himalayan expeditions.
