Trip overview

The 20-day Best of Annapurna Trek is a long and rewarding journey that takes you through some of the most beautiful parts of the Annapurna region. Instead of following just one trail, this trek combines Mardi Himal, Annapurna Base Camp, Khopra Ridge, and Poon Hill into a single adventure.

The journey starts from Pokhara and the trail first heads towards Mardi Himal, passing through Australian Camp, Forest Camp and Badal Danda before reaching High Camp. From here, an early morning hike to Mardi View Point and Mardi Himal Base Camp brings you closer to the mountains before descending towards Landruk.

From Landruk, the trail joins the famous Annapurna Base Camp route. You walk through Sinuwa and Deurali before reaching Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130m. The scenery changes as you gain altitude, with dense forests gradually giving way to rocky landscapes and high mountain surroundings.

After returning from Annapurna Base Camp, the trek takes a quieter trail towards Tadapani, Dobato and Khopra Ridge. This part of the journey is less crowded and offers beautiful views of the surrounding Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The trail then continues towards Chitre and Ghorepani.

The final highlight of the trek is Poon Hill, where you make an early morning hike to watch the sunrise over the Himalayan peaks. After enjoying the views, the trail descends to Ulleri and you drive back to Pokhara. The following day, you get some time to explore Pokhara before flying back to Kathmandu.

Overall, the Best of Annapurna Trek brings together different trails, landscapes and mountain viewpoints in one journey. It is a great option for trekkers who want to explore more than one side of the Annapurna region instead of limiting the trip to a single trekking route.
