Today, Lam Babu brings that experience into his role at Summit8000, where he works as an Instructor and Expedition Trainer, helping climbers and mountain professionals strengthen the technical, practical, and decision-making skills required for Himalayan expeditions.

His role goes beyond teaching climbing techniques. He helps prepare people for the realities of expedition life — from mountain movement and equipment use to safety, teamwork, high-altitude awareness, and responsible decision-making.

More Than 30 Years in the Mountains

Lam Babu has spent more than 30 years working in the Himalayan mountaineering environment.

His experience includes guiding and supporting major Himalayan expeditions, working as a Sirdar (Lead Sherpa), guiding international climbers, and training aspiring mountain professionals.

Over the years, he has developed a practical understanding of what it takes to operate safely and effectively in high-altitude environments.

That experience now forms the foundation of his work as an instructor.
