Trip overview

Luxury Everest Expedition, a 45-day journey to the summit of Mount Everest, is designed for climbers who want strong expedition support without compromising on comfort during the long stay in the Himalayas. From the beginning in Kathmandu to the final summit push, we combine experienced high-altitude Sherpa support, IFMGA mountain leadership, helicopter logistics and a more comfortable Base Camp setup.

The expedition begins with preparation in Kathmandu then flying by helicopter towards the Khumbu region. We stay overnight at the Everest View Hotel and continue towards Dingboche by helicopter, allowing more time for acclimatization and preparation for the higher elevations. Before moving into the main climbing phase, the programme includes technical training at Base Camp and training climb on a 6,000m peak, giving the climbing team valuable experience at the higher altitude.

The expedition is organized around gradual acclimatization, training and high-altitude rotations at the Everest Base Camp. Each climber is supported by two dedicated climbing guides; one IFMGA-certified Mountain Guide and one experienced Sherpa Guide. We gradually climb through Camp I, Camp II and Camp III, returning to Base Camp for rest and recovery between rotations. The schedule remains flexible because weather, route conditions and the condition of the climbers determine how Everest can be approached safely.

Comfort is maintained throughout the expedition with a private luxury single tent at Base Camp, luxury sleeping arrangements, dedicated dining facilities, fresh food, special menus, Wi-Fi and personal support. Regular health check up and monitoring, weather forecasting, oxygen support and experienced high-altitude staff remain part of the expedition throughout the climbing period.

The final summit push is planned around the best available weather window. After the summit attempt, we return to Base Camp and fly directly back to Kathmandu by helicopter, followed by time to rest and celebrate the completion of the expedition.

Led by Mr. Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa, a 24-time Everest Summiter, and Mr. Temba Tsheri Sherpa, the Luxury Everest Expedition brings together experienced mountain leadership, dedicated Sherpa support, careful acclimatization and a level of comfort rarely available on an Everest expedition.

Acclimatization, Training and Preparation in Everest Base Camp (5,364m)

During this period, the expedition team will conduct climbing and technical training at Base Camp, including the use of crampons, harnesses, ascenders, ice axes, fixed ropes and other equipment required for the Everest route. The team will also prepare for movement through the Khumbu Icefall and the higher camps.

As part of the preparation, the team will also undertake training on a 6,000m peak. This provides an opportunity to gain practical experience at higher altitude, test climbing equipment and build confidence before moving into the higher sections of the Everest route. The timing and exact training objective will depend on weather, route conditions and the acclimatization of the climbers.

The traditional expedition Puja ceremony will also be performed at Base Camp before entering the higher sections of the mountain. Equipment, oxygen arrangements and other expedition supplies will be checked and prepared during this period.

The exact activities for each day cannot be fixed in advance. Some days may be used mainly for rest and recovery, while others may include technical training, 6,000m peak training, short acclimatization hikes or expedition preparation. The schedule will be adjusted according to weather, route conditions, health and physical condition of the climbers and the advice of the expedition leaders.

  15. Day 19

Everest Base Camp, Camp I, Camp II and Camp III Rotations and Acclimatization (7,100)

This period is dedicated to the main acclimatization rotations and preparation for the final summit attempt.

Depending on weather and route conditions, we will make progressive rotations from Everest Base Camp through the Khumbu Icefall toward Camp I, Camp II and, when appropriate, Camp III. The purpose of these rotations is to gradually expose the body to higher elevations and allow the climbing team to prepare the route and establish the necessary equipment and supplies at the higher camps.

After each rotation, we may return to Base Camp for rest and recovery before making the next climb. Fresh meals, proper hydration, health monitoring and sufficient rest will be maintained throughout this period.

The exact rotation schedule depends on weather, route conditions, the condition of the climbers and the advice of the expedition leaders. Some days will be spent at higher camps, while other days will be used for rest and recovery at Base Camp.

During this period, the team will also monitor the mountain and weather forecasts to identify the most suitable window for the final summit attempt.

After completing the high-altitude rotations, we descend from the mountain by helicopter to Namche or Kathmandu, depending on weather, flight conditions and operational requirements.

These two days are dedicated to rest and recovery after spending extended time at high altitude. Moving to a lower elevation allows the body to recover and regain energy before returning to the mountain for the final summit push.

During this period, the expedition team will closely follow the weather forecast and mountain conditions to identify a suitable summit window. We will also check climbing equipment, oxygen arrangements, clothing and other equipment required for the final ascent.

The expedition leaders will review the summit plan with the climbing team and make the necessary arrangements for returning to Everest Base Camp and beginning the final summit rotation. The exact activities during these two days may vary depending on the condition of the climbers, weather and operational conditions.
